Cyberport takes home a record 31 wins at annual ICT awards
Cyberport incubatees, alumni, subscribers and tenants scored big wins at this year’s Hong Kong ICT awards claiming a record 31 prizes in six categories including two Grand Awards – a new award category, five Gold Awards, five Silver Awards, six Bronze Awards, eight Certificates of Merit and five Special Mentions.
Of these wins, 13 were won by current and past participants of the Cyberport Incubation Programme and the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF) Scheme.
“We would like to congratulate all the winners. These great achievements make us proud. This not only reinforces our mission of fostering Hong Kong’s IT entrepreneurship but also highlights the importance of spearheading ICT development,” said Herman Lam, CEO of Cyberport.
Cyberport’s incubatees won the Grand Awards and Gold Awards in the “Best ICT Startup” and “Best Lifestyle” categories. Gold awards were also won in the “Best Innovation” (Mobile Marketing), “Best Innovation” (Entrepreneurial Innovation) and “Best ICT Startup” (Business Market) sub-categories.
Over 1,100 entries were submitted to the ICT awards which recognize and commend outstanding ICT innovations and applications by Hong Kong ICT professionals.
“The success of the incubatees and CCMF awardees show how these schemes can help transform dreams into reality. For those with a good idea, now is the time to apply to either of the schemes and give yourself the opportunity to make a difference,” added Mr. Lam.
The CCMF and Incubation Programmes are now calling for applications. The deadline is 28 May.
CCMF participants will receive a cash grant to develop their prototype product or proof of concept over a six month period. The Incubation Programme offers financial assistance, rent-free office space, business support and training and development opportunities to on-site and off-site startups.
