EHK Talks to AngelHack’s Nausheen About Masters of Code Hackathon
This interview with AngelHack’s Marketing Director, Ms Nausheen Ali was conducted and condensed by Maria Antonia of EntrepreneurHK (EHK).
This is Angelhack’s second time in town. What’s your impression on HK’s startup community?
Nausheen: We love coming to HK because the HK startup community is a quickly emerging start-up scene backed with the talent of some of the world’s top financial firms standing behind it. We get a great turnout at our AngelHack events, not only from developers and tech enthusiasts, but also from designers, entrepreneurs and business people. There is a curiosity and a willingness to learn in HK that can’t be topped.
What can participants expect?
Nausheen: Participants can expect to meet cool people and learn something new, but if they really want to get the most out of their hackathon event then they should join a team and collaborate on a project. An AngelHack organized hackathon is for everyone regardless of your background, technical or non-technical; sometimes its the teams with the best project managers (usually someone non-technical) that end up with the greatest chance of winning. Oh, did I mention the food…we’re known for good food!
Any tips for participants?
Nausheen: Yes, go to mastersofcode.com, register for the event and learn about the MasterCard Masters of Code HK theme, take a look at previous winners, http://bit.ly/1B8rjwN, (in Sydney) and see what they created. Get your creative juices flowing and bring a few friends to the competition- who knows your team may end up being the ones that make it to the Grand Finale in Silicon Valley!
Join in the party and we’ll be giving out a GoPro to the 100th signup and Beats headphones at the 150th! Winners from each region will be flown out for the final hackathon to compete for the eternal fame and glory of being the very first Masters of Code and for the grand prize of $100,000USD!
For the very first time, Masters of Code is coming to Hong Kong on 21st and 22nd March! Check out the event page here @ http://bit.ly/MastersOfCodeHK and use the discount code “AngelHACK” to get FREE tickets!
