HKSTP’s All-Inclusive One-day Startup Workshop on Jul 3rd
Entrepreneurship Symposium to Give All-embracing Insights from How to Begin to How to Expand.
Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (“HKSTP”) will host the Entrepreneurship Symposium, an intensive and all-inclusive one-day start-up workshop for budding Hong Kong innovators and start-ups. Taking place at Hong Kong Science Park’s Grand Hall on July 3rd, this highly interactive conference is specially tailored for those who wish to thrive through leveraging the dynamic start-up ecosystem in Hong Kong, and eventually making it to the global market.
The event features an array of experts from the different segments in the start-up scene. They will walk participants through all they need to know about starting up and running a technology-based new business. This includes the creation of a start-up, the tips for leaping through early stage challenges, the tricks to manage a fast-evolving company structure and culture, the clues for successful investment pitch, the insights into how large corporations select partner start-ups and the latest market and technology trends.
The event also serves as a platform for eager-minded individuals to connect with successful young entrepreneurs, experienced start-up mentors and professional venture investors.
“We would like to offer a one-stop opportunity for individuals to learn and see for themselves what it takes to be a start-up. In just one day, participants will collect sufficient information to identify next steps and to build new contacts and relationships in the industry. Through the Entrepreneurship Symposium, HKSTP hopes to help Hong Kong’s greater start-up industry to rise to the next level, by fostering creative ideas and talent that will help Hong Kong become one of the world’s best start-up hubs.” said Mr Allen Ma, Chief Executive Officer, HKSTP.
Among the many interactive sessions available during the conference, participants should not miss Fund as Fuel, in which they can learn about the latest funding schemes and corporate venture funds; Investment Pitching, in which they can gain insight into how to best pitch for investment; Tech Trends to Watch, which will immerse listeners in the hottest tech trends; andHunting for Deals, in which, angel, VC and PE investors will speak about their key investment criteria.
The event is free of charge and co-hosted by HKSTP and the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). Participants will have an opportunity to browse 32 young start-ups and their products, and vote for the best one. Those who register before 9:30am on the event date will have a chance to win the latest Phantom 3 Quadcopter by DJI – a successful Hong Kong start-up that grew from a love of flying to a billion dollar multi-national company.
